Sandhya Vandan is performed only during the Sandhi period. Although there are 5 times, but the sandhi of the above two times – morning and evening – is important, i.e. at the time of sunrise and sunset. According to the Vedas, at this time, in the temple or in solitude, by doing defecation, achamana, pranayam etc., prayers to the formless God are done with Gayatri verses.
